Meet Georgia
Georgia Weston (she/her pronouns) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California (#104667) who provides virtual individual, family, and group therapy. She has an intimate understanding of how the mind-body connection, complex family dynamics, traumatic experiences, and stress can lead to an internal battle that no one should have to go through alone.
Personal Life
Georgia is a wife, mother, and dog owner living in the greater Los Angeles area. She enjoys doing art, her daily yoga practice, and singing loudly in the car with the windows down.
Clinical Experience
Georgia has years of clinical social work experience, both as an outpatient therapist and residential therapist, for teens, adults, seniors, and families dealing with complex cognitive, behavioral, and social needs (such as chronic illness, posttraumatic stress disorder, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, conduct disorder, grief, and more). She has experience creating and leading clinical programs for organizations that provide virtual and in-person therapeutic services. Georgia was also a Field Supervisor for MSW students at USC completing their field placement requirements prior to graduation. In recognition of her humanitarian services, Weston received the David Chow Humanitarian Foundation Award for 2019.
Executive Experience
Georgia was the Executive Director of Creative Healing for Youth in Pain (CHYP) from 2019-2023, providing virtual services to teens, young adults, and families experiencing chronic pain. She led an international group of global leaders in pediatric chronic pain, as well as patient and family advisory groups. In 2011, she founded the Teen Pain Help Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable corporation created to help children and adolescents with chronic pain. She also co-founded and was the Director of Programming for Art Rx, strengthening the partnership between the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work and the USC Keck School of Medicine, specifically to better understand how art impacts pain.
Education
Georgia holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California (Summa Cum Laude), with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families, as well as a focus in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Georgia also has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology (Magna Cum Laude), with a minor in art, from St. Edward’s University.
